Well the first race of the formula one season has come and gone, and after a 5 month withdrawl I’ve had my first fix of the year, that couldn’t have gone any better. After taking pole on Friday, the reds have just walked away with a Ferrari 1-2 at Albert Park, Melbourne Australia!!!!!!!
With Michael taking the spoils of a 10 point win as part of a Ferrari red wash of the race, where the message was a simple.. “Catch me if you can”. Unfortunately for the other teams, they had no answer to Ferrari’s challenge!
The cooler, cloudier Australian weather played nicely into the hands of Ferrari’s bridgestone tyres, since the Michelins of rivals McLaren and Williams prefer something a little hotter.
The only question now is if this is going to be the trend for the remaining 17 races, or if the others can pull back the gap. Guess we’ll find out in Malaysia in 2 weeks time
