Researchers are currently looking into using a propulsion system that utilises focused beams of plasma. Such a technology could see spacecraft getting to Mars and back in just 90 days!!!!! This is compared to the 2 years it takes presently!
It works by firing the ionised plasma beam at a craft that is fitted with a sail. The sailing ships of the future, no doubt.
It’s definitely an interesting concept! I don’t care how they do it, I just wanna ride on a spaceship!
