New Software

Well, the deed is done. I’ve upgraded from B2Evolution.. to WordPress, and so far I’m liking it. There was a slight glitch in the transfering of my old posts, in that the conversion software didn’t like the dates that B2E used so wouldn’t comply. That meant I had to do it all manually, but we’re done now!

Woot! Thanks to this plugin I can now enjoy the wonders of Gravatars for my blog. So if you have a registered avatar with gravatar, and leave a comment on my site, it shows up!!!

Yup, I’m back and just cleaned out the referrer / comment spam that my blog’s been getting recently.

So.. i’ve come to the conclusion that I’m going to remove that part from the sidebar. It can still be accessed from the stats page, but that portion isn’t catalogued by the robots, so referrer spamming my site isn’t going to get you anywhere!

Well i’ve come across another one of those increase the traffic to your blog sites. First there was Blog Explosion, now comes Blog Clicker. This site works on the similar premise as BE – you surf member sites, earn points that translates into people visiting your site in exchange. Can’t really loose – well, apart from the hours spent surfing of course

Well, it’s been a quiet couple of days, so I’ve decided to update my blog to the latest B2Evolution version – that being 0.9.0.11

Now I just have to reinstall my correct smilies and my template, but that shouldn’t be too hard, right?!

EDIT: Well, that seemed to have worked out okay – woohoo!

Blog Explosion and visitor map

Firstly let me say a nice hi to all those folks that are stopping by using Blogexplosion. I hope you enjoy your 30 second stay here! Oh and you’re more than welcome to stay longer For those who aren’t and are curious, Blog Explosion works by you signing up, then surfing other blogs, from which you earn credits that directs people to come and read your blog. Basically for every 2 blogs you read, one person reads yours. So far I’m having fun having a see of what is out there, and bringing back some ideas to my own blog. Now onto the visitor map. On the .. right hand side – had to think then, I’ve changed the location of my sidebar. There’s a little visitor map, I’m just curious as to where you folks are from It works by calculating where your IP addresses is from! Simple, eh?!

The new look.., and I’m male!

Well, here it is, the new skin that I’ve spent the last couple of nights working on. It conforms to my colour scheme of choice at the moment – blue, gold and grey. Such a nice colour combination. It’s also not the eyesore my last blog skin was after I had finished fiddling with it.

In the next week or so I’ll hopefully be porting the rest of my website over to it, then everything will match quite nicely! Just how I like it!

On other unrelated news.. apparantly I’m Male!!! Well, not physically male or anything like that – just the way that I write indicates that I’m a man!!!! If you wanna see for yourself head here: Gender Genie — Have a sample of your writing that you can cut and paste in the box and see what sex you are!

*sigh* Done if at least 4 times, and i’m still male…..

Well in the TTLB – that’s the truth laid bear – Ecosystem, I’m a Crunchy Crustacean – I’m not sure whether that’s a good or a bad thing. I mean, I think I’d rather be something, I dunno, a little more.. cuddly. Or at least something with fur! Maybe that comes later in the food chain.

That’s right, the upgrade from the Nucleus blog engine core to the b2evolution one has been completed, and the majority of the old posts have made the transition over!

It’s a much faster beast and isn’t having the refering problems the old blog engine had! So that helps

I’ve also transfered over the funky smilies from the last one.. so whee!!
