Screen idol George Clooney was greeted by hundreds of screaming fans at the UK premiere of his new film Leatherheads.

I was in London at the time on Tuesday, but arrived at Leicester Square in time to see the red carpet being vanned away, and the crowd control barricades being taken down. Oh well, wasn’t much of a fan anyways!

This bad boy is back on Saturday 6.20pm – Woot! Not sure about Catherine Tate – didn’t like her that much in the Runaway Bride, as she always seemed to be shouting, but who knows. It might be an okay season after all.. can’t wait!

Romantic drama Atonement is leading the field at this year’s Bafta film awards, after receiving 14 nominations.

I mean.. how?!! I saw the film, thankfully for free – and I really don’t think, nor see how this film was so great? Anyone care to explain that one to me please?

Over the last week, several sources from within the animation business have indicated to us that there is renewed talk at FOX about bringing fresh Futurama content directly to DVD. We corroborated this with other sources close to the show before publishing the information.

The talk is of course still in a preliminary stage. Options reported to us include one or more Futurama movies in case of a go-ahead.

Definitely good news for all Futurama fans! Hopefully this does come to fruition!

… I’ve seen it! 8:45am I was stood outside the cinema… eating my McD’s breakfast. At that time in the morning the queue wasn’t that big.. nor were there that many people in the cinema watching it after we had all got our food and taken our seats. So that was fortunate. I hate nothing more than being in a cinema with a ton of people!

It was a definite good job that I didn’t go for the 11:45am showing. The queue as we were leaving was far into the cinema and was huge outside as well. I wonder how many people took the day off work to see it. Or skived off school. I know I didn’t, since I work on an evening! )

Anyways, the film itself was GREAT. It’s certainly the better of the 3 prequels. Not sure it’s up to the task of topping The Empire Strikes Back, which is my all time favourite, but if you were disappointed with Episode I and II, you’ll definitely love this one. It was more action orientated with space battles and lightsabers galore.

General Grievous wasn’t as kick ass as he was in the animated Clone Wars – no doubt the second installment of that, when I get around to watching it, will explain why. He also seemed to be a little ill..

Anakin’s turn to the dark side went a little too quickly for my liking too, one minute he was protesting that it wasn’t the Jedi way.. the next, he was bowing before Darth Sidious and calling him master.. *shrugs*

R2D2 was as cool as always. He’s got to be my favourite character in the Star Wars universe. Astro Droids rule!!!!!

All in all, good movie. Definitely recommended!

Last time I did one of these rental thingies, I got through 30 films in a month, so I’m aiming to have watched come the end July to have watched 90 movies. Of course it depends on how quickly I can get through them, send them back and get new ones, but that’s the goal.
