Deep Space Nine

The third incarnation of Star Trek began filming in 1992 with the pilot episode, 'Emissary'. Like it's predecessor, it was set in the 24th century, although this time it was aboard an ex-Cardassian mining station, Terok Nor, that was being administered by the Federation and renamed Deep Space Nine.

The action takes place in the Bajoran region of space, and introduces the first stable wormhole known to exist, in the Denorios Belt, which leads to the new, un-explored Gamma Quadrant. This exciting doorway brings with it new opportunities in exploration, as well as new enemies like the Dominion

Deep Space Nine ended it's run 7 seasons later, in 1999 with the 2 hour finale, 'What you Leave Behind'.
