Jadzia is the Eighth Host of the Dax Symbiont.

The previous host of the symbiont was Curzon, who was a close friend of Captain Benjamin Sisko. He did not initially want Jadzia to become an initiative because of his personal feelings towards her, so she was initially dismissed from the program.

However she later reapplied, and is the only Trill to ever be re admitted to the program and successfully get through. It was only years later that she found out the true reason behind her first disqualification.

Jadzia was married to Lieutenant Commander Worf in 2374, in a traditional Klingon ceremony aboard Deep Space Nine, where she was admitted into the House of Martok.

Jadzia met an untimely end towards the end of 2374 at the hands of Gul Dukat, who was possessed by a Pah-Wraith.

Jadzia Dax was first seen in the Episode: 'Emissary', and was killed in 'Tears of the Prophets'
