The Bajoran Wormhole was discovered in the Denorios Belt on Stardate: 46397.1 (2369) by Jadzia Dax and Commander Benjamin Sisko.
The Denorios Belt lies on the edge of the Bajoran Star System approxiamtely 160 million kilometers from Bajor.
It connects the Alpha Quadrant with the Gamma Quadrant - covering a distance of about 90,000 light years.
It isn't a natural phenomenon. It is constructed by a race of aliens whom the Bajorans call the Celestrial Prohets. It uses stable veteron paricles.
The wormhole was first seen in the Episode: 'Emissary'
