Tasha was born on a failed Federation colony on Turkana IV. Her parents were killed when she wa sonly 5, and she spent much of her childhood trying to survive, which was no easy feat.

She spent most of her time evading the rape gangs that terrorised the planet, and looked after her younger sister.

The only normal aspect of her childhood was owning a pet kitten.

At the age of 15, Natasha escaped from Turkana IV, when she chose to join and take up a starfleet career.

She proved that Data was indeed Fully functional in 2364 during the Tschiakovslky virus.

Tasha was killed in late 2364 whilst on a rescue mission to Vagra II in an attempt to rescue Deanna Troi from her crashed shuttlecraft. Armus killed her instantly, but it was not a worthwhile death, which is what she wanted.

Tasha Yar was first seen in the Episode: 'Encounter At Farpoint', she was killed in 'Skin of Evil'
